Bright sunshine welcomed the Jailers to there first mid week game of the season. Hosted by Drayton at the infamous Stockingford Piv. Despite work commitments and rush hour traffic the line up remained pretty much unchanged.
Captain Booth in goal, Wilson and T-Bone centre backs, Bond left back and Yates on the right. Midfield compromised of Taylor partnered with Greg. On the left Bez and second start for Will on the right. Up top was Ruddy and Smithy.
A slightly bobberly pitch seen a slow from the Jailhouse but building from previous weeks producing neat football at times. One or two attacks were fizzeled out with some decent saves but Bez opened up the scoring with a neat right foot finish. A second was added when a ball over the top from Ruddy found Smithy who slotted the ball home to make it two nil at half time.
Second half and comfortably in the lead the Jailers started to get complacent with a wave of attacks targeting our centre backs. On one attack, last weeks man of the match was Bond, was alleged to bring down a player in the box conceding a penalty. Ex Jailhouse player Steve Alton stepped up to convert it to make it 2 -1 with 20 minutes left. The Jailers had more chances to more then double there lead with Smithy skying two identical one on ones – to his horror!!
The Jailers hung on with a nail biting close to the game……but 3 points is 3 points.
