The return fixture of Manor house seen one some big changes to the starting line up and formation such was the extent of the Jailhouse injury list. Taylor – knee, Gav Woolley – Shoulder, Paul Hart – Out of shape. Booth was in goal, the back line stayed the same from the previous week, midfield seen Smith step in to join Gregs in a central roll, the natural left footer Bond slotted into left midfield and Will came in on the right. Up front seen the return of the inform Bez along side Ruddy. On the bench was man mountain Monkey, assistance assistant Bomb and Liam.
After a mid week draw with second place rivals a win was a must! True to form the Jailers made an identical mistake to the week before, trying to play the offside trap only to be caught out and go an early goal down – again this was against the run of play. Chances went begging from the Jailhouse boys with Bez skying the ball over the bar from 2 yards out and Bond coming close from a corner. Half time was approaching and Manor House had a little attack which our defenders panicked to concede yet another own goal. This was almost a mirror image of last weeks performance without the pre half time reply from the Jailers going in two nil down.
The second half and it was a similar story, attack after attack from the Jailhouse only for there keeper to get lucky on several occasions or a lucky foot to pop out at a crucial point. Bez finally headed home a delight cross from Will and the pressure was on for an equaliser……….but yep it went the oppositions way again the Jailhouse trying to play the offside trap and catch more ball watching. Final score 3 - 1
Shocking mistakes at the back and own goals have cost us dearly in recent weeks along with un-clinical finishing up front. Weather this will put a stop to our promotion push we will see!
