Attlebough Mills visited Stanley Road for the second game of the league campaign.
After a less then comfortable win the prior week the Gaffa instructed his assistants, assistant to change the starting line up and to utilise his skills at being good at delivering bad news! Pabs was back in favour at right back and it was the first starts to the season for Gav in centre mid and Chef man at left back. Ruddy scoring twice after coming off the bench made a deserved start up top instead of Luke.
The game kicked off with the Jailhouse having most the possession and chance’s, only for the two forwards Smith and Ruddy to squander chance after chance. However it was Attlebough Mills who opened the scoring after skipper Wilson committed a foul inside the box to concede a penalty. More chances came for the Jailers to go level but again we fell short at the end product. Finally the dead lock broke on the half hour mark with Ruddy powering home a left foot drive. Just before half time Adam Taylor hit a thunderous drive only for it to come back off the cross bar.
After a few wise words of wisdom from the Gaffa the lads headed back onto the fortress and got off to a flying start. Some excellent play down the left from Chef man and Bez produced a cross which Liam Hegarty converted to open up his Jailhouse account. The game now being controlled by the Jailhouse needed another goal to put the game out of reach of Attlebough Mills. A free kick outside the box presented the perfect opportunity – Taylor touched the ball to midfield partner Gav (Pole to Cypriote) who fired the ball home passed the routed keeper for a 3 – 1 lead. 10 minutes before time Smith added another to the score sheet to make the final score four one.
An all round great performance from the team and at times totally out classing the opposition. Some note worthy performance from Chef Man and Pabs in the left and right back positions.
