The return fixture of Manor house seen one some big changes to the starting line up and formation such was the extent of the Jailhouse injury list. Taylor – knee, Gav Woolley – Shoulder, Paul Hart – Out of shape. Up front seen the return of the inform Bez along side Ruddy. On the bench was man mountain Monkey, assistance assistant Bomb and Liam.

After a mid week draw with second place rivals a win was a must! True to form the Jailers made an identical mistake to the week before, trying to play the offside trap only to be caught out and go an early goal down – again this was against the run of play. Chances went begging from the Jailhouse boys with Bez skying the ball over the bar from 2 yards out and Bond coming close from a corner. Half time was approaching and Manor House had a little attack which our defenders panicked to concede yet another own goal. This was almost a mirror image of last weeks performance without the pre half time reply from the Jailers going in two nil down.
The second half and it was a similar story, attack after attack from the Jailhouse only for there keeper to get lucky on several occasions or a lucky foot to pop out at a crucial point. Bez finally headed home a delight cross from Will and the pressure was on for an equaliser……….but yep it went the oppositions way again the Jailhouse trying to play the offside trap and catch more ball watching. Final score 3 - 1
Shocking mistakes at the back and own goals have cost us dearly in recent weeks along with un-clinical finishing up front. Weather this will put a stop to our promotion push we will see!

A slightly changed line up with the return of Will on the right, in a game in which both teams needed a win to ease the pressure for 2nd place!

A very confidence start in which the Jailer were first to even ball and wanted it more, an early goal was inevitable however it came for Manor House when they broke the Jailhouse offside trap leaving the defenders route and Boothy exposed for them to slot home an unlikely lead.
If a first goal was inevitable an equaliser certainly was and it came when a goal kick from Booth was left to bounced and Smith latched on to it to chip the keeper. A second was to follow when another looping ball was put into the box and Adam Taylor assisted the ball on for Smith to slot home the second. It all seemed like plain sailing until a freakish own goal was scored by Kev Wilson to make it two all. The night mare wasn’t over when from a corner Adam Taylor chested the ball down to gift there striker with a perfect assist and send the Jailer in 3 – 2 in a match they should have been 3 – 2 up!
Knowing we were desperately unlucky with two of the goals the Jailers knew they had to produce in the second half. Within five minutes of the restart Bez burst through on the left cut across the box and struck the ball across the keeper to leave the score line. The pressure was mounting on Manor House as chance’s were created for the Jailhouse and Manor House were producing little in return. A goal finally came when some neat football between Gregs and Smith on the edge of the box produce a well worked goal for Smith to complete his hat-trick and secure the 3 points.
As the clock ticked on changes were made from the sidelines as Adam Taylor went off injured, some re-positioning seen Gregs go into the middle, Smith on the right and the freak show rolled out up top in rare appearance. The change almost paid dividend as the freak show was released with only the keeper to beat, true to current form the freak show didn’t find the back of the net but found the side line with yet another injury, after being taken down by the keeper - Which should have resulted in a stone wall penalty.
With a flagging Manor House defence fresh legs were needed up front unfortunately we didn’t have any so the management brought on Jibba in his first appearance since 2009 after rejoining the club following a very unsuccessful spell at Division 5 basement boys Wentworth Warriors. Needless to say I think I think it will be his last appearance in a black and white shirt for sometime after failing to impressive the management.
In the end a good come back by the lad which was only brought on by themselves.

Bright sunshine welcomed the Jailers to there first mid week game of the season. Hosted by Drayton at the infamous Stockingford Piv. Despite work commitments and rush hour traffic the line up remained pretty much unchanged.

Second half and comfortably in the lead the Jailers started to get complacent with a wave of attacks targeting our centre backs. On one attack, last weeks man of the match was Bond, was alleged to bring down a player in the box conceding a penalty. Ex Jailhouse player Steve Alton stepped up to convert it to make it 2 -1 with 20 minutes left. The Jailers had more chances to more then double there lead with Smithy skying two identical one on ones – to his horror!!
The Jailers hung on with a nail biting close to the game……but 3 points is 3 points.

The dead lock was broken when a trade mark Gregs through ball found Smithy tearing down the right side who slotted it over for Ruddy to tap home the first and his 12th of the season. Looking like we were in control a lose ball was fed over the top and exposed our defence, leaving there striker one on one with Boothy who won the ball but was alleged to bring the man down first. The resulting pen seen the Jailers go in a half time one all.
The second half and early pressure was applied again by the midfield with Gregs forcing and early corner. From the resulting corner T-Bone rose to make is 2 -1 and picking up his second Jailhouse goal. The pressure was piling on as the Jailhouse defence had things sealed up at the back with Boothy taking the odd goal kick. A third was inevitable and with a quick throw in again instrumented by Gregs, Smith whipped the ball in for Will to slot home on his debut. The Gaffa made some changes in the final staged bring on big Yaya (Monkey) and fresh from holiday and 3 stone heavier Gav Woolley. A forth goal was added when Bez crossed the ball for Smith to finally knock home his first in 4 games.
In the end a comfortable win with a very note worth performance from the defence and especially man of the match Craig Goode.

In front of the back four was the “guard dog” Gav Woolley. Midfield seen a return on the left wing for Bond and Mr Devine on the right side. In the middle of the park Gregory linked up with Smithy in a new roll. Up front was the ever present Bez.
Switching ends for the first half Jailhouse were attacking on the slightly down hill slope. First chance of the game fell to Luke Devine, after Bez’s one-on-one with the keeper was saved and parried out, only for Luke to touch it inches wide. It was pretty much all the Jailhouse when the dead lock was broken after Bez rounded the keeper to slot home his 5th goal of the season. Luke Devine came close again after the keeper fumbled the ball on the edge of the area and his chip just fell wide of the far post. At the other end the defense and Boothy were hardly tested until a dubious penalty was awarded which was dispatched to make it 1-1.Fighting back, Bond hit a thunderous strike from the left side which left the keeper routed only for it to come bouncing back off the wood work! Approaching half time Bez was fouled just outside the box, fancying his chances after an earlier sighter Kev Wilson stepped up to drive the ball low and hard under the keeper for his first ever Jailhouse goal. Half time 2 -1 to the good.
Second half and we needed to build on our lead. Chances were being created but each time being put inches wide or off target; no matter what we tried we always seem to fall short at the final hurdle. Luke Devine was put through twice from Gregory only to squander both chances. Smith broke form midfield but couldn’t capitalize. The pressure was being felt and the Gaffa made some changes. Bond off for Ruddy and Bez dropping into the left wing position. Two minutes after coming on Ruddy notched the Jailhouse 3rd after some Devine foot work from Luke. Three one to the good and the lads were cruising…or so they though, from a Jailhouse corner Ford Sports broke to catch us on the counter attack and make it 3 – 2 with ten minutes to go. Feeling they had the rub of the green Ford Sports pushed there big center back up top to try and cause some problem, counter acting this the Jailhouse management bought on T-Bone. However the inevitable happen in stoppage time, when a Ford Sports corner resulted in there center back scoring and gracing them with a point.
A draw which seems like a lost and on the day our finishing cost us all three points.

Shooting towards the East Stand it was quick start for the Jailers (as always) with the main work coming from the wings delivering testing crosses for the keeper to deal with in tricky conditions. The bulk of the set up play was coming from Xavi and Iniesta feeding the wingers and strikers with threading through balls. The first goal of the game went to the Jailers, a parried cross fell nicely to Lukes feet who slotted home his 5th goal of the season. A second goal was to follow when a rare run from Bez seen him brought down in the box to win a penalty. Up stepped Gav (Iniesta) to show the rest of the team how a penalty should be taken!
Half time and the Jailers were pottering along nicely without the defence and Boothy being tested. A 3rd goal was added to the Jailhouse score board when Gregs hit an outside of the boot shot that was finger tipped away only for Ruddy help himself to his 9th goal of the season and to over take the master talisman, Smithy, in the lead scorers chart!
With a comfortable lead the gaffa started to think about next week, resting some of the lads. It was a season debut for midfield hall of famer “The Sgt” who came on in an attacking position for Ruddy. It wasn’t long before the old dog made an impact……chesting down the ball for, the now instrumental, Gregs to chip a ball to the back stick for Bez to notch his first for 3 weeks.
80th minute and the match was all but over ………once again it was time to roll out the freak show. With no disrespect, replacing Chefman, who had a cracking game on the right side of midfield. The customary tape was on the socks (yellow to match the kit of course) and there was more strapping on him then a strapping machine, onto the pitch he went and with in minutes what clattered to the ground……..and that’s all he did.
Another 3 points and a 4th clean sheet of the season for the team, credit to Booth and his wall of defenders in front of him. For the second consecutive game in a row Greg was Star Man. More to follow against Mancetter lads.

A damp start to the game saw the Jailers shooting to there favourite end setting up to get an early lead. Reborn Pabs was causing some early trouble down the right flank with some mazy “Rondalo like” runs, excellent play in the middle of the park from Gregs and Gav seen most of there play broken up leaving our defence with little to do. The dead lock was broken when Luke Devine went on a mazy “Pabs like” run and cross the ball for Ruddy to score in off the post.
A second was to follow when a neat ball from Bez put Pabs through to coolly and calmly slot the ball under the on coming keeper for his second goal of the season! A slight scuffle seen Ruddy pick up a yellow card towards the end of the half – naughty boy!
Two nil to the good the Gaffa demanded more of the same in the second half, only for the lads to let slip from a well worked corner. From the restart the Jailers piled on the pressure with Gregs carving out most the openings from the midfield with through balls to Bez, Luke and Ruddy only for some last ditch tackling to save Ridge Lane from fall further behind. Ridge Lane were lucky not to equalise half way through only for the outstanding Booth to pull off some top point blank saves. The third Jailhouse goal came after a stern winning tackle from Gregs in the middle of the park left the ball loose for Ruddy to latch onto and fire the ball home.
10 minutes from time, strapped up, braced up and colour coordinated taped up - The freak show was rolled out, the long return of Michael Haynes aka Dennis. Maggie had taken off the shackles for the first time in over a season oh and slightly plagued by injuries, including water on the knee(s), cut elbows, popping thighs not to mention his level of fitness, never the less he was stripped, wound up, primed for action and to make an immediate impact……….we’re still waiting!
A most improved performance and back to winning ways. Star man game from Gregs (usually labelled the scapegoat) and a note worth congratulations to passed captain Wilson for completing 900 minutes of football and not missing a minute so far this season.

Midfield seen Gav Woolley return to a more central roll along side Gregs, with Liam and Bond to the right and left respectively. Up top seen the return of Bez partnering the inform Ruddy.
Slight disruption to the start of the game seen an unplanned late kick off - due to the referee not turning up!
After the two managers agreed on how to rectify the situation in stepped “The Bomb” ………his first appearance with the Jailhouse for almost a year! The question was could he complete a full 90 minutes!
A slow start to the game seen both teams unsettled with neither team having an advantage. The Jailhouse finally got going when Bez tested the keeper with a long range shot and promising moves were being created down the left flank by Bond and Chef. After 20 minutes the man mountain central defender T-Bone was taken off with an injured thigh. A slight reshuffle seen Yateys move into the central roll and substitute Pabs go onto the right. A dull and uneventfully first half.
The second half saw the Jailers pressing for that elusive goal. Although it could have gone either way. Ruddy finally broke the dead lock after latching onto a Bond ball, he coolly rounded the keeper to smash home his 6th goal of the season. After the goal Weddington lads pressed and pressed for an equaliser, once hitting the bar and twice being denied by Boothy from point blank shots. He also stopped a near certain goal when he came out his area to clear up a loose ball, causing the Weddington bench to erupt with outrage as they thought he took there man down – He did but won the ball first! Jailhouse had another attacking spell to try and sneak a second goal from the unlikely candidate of captain Kev Wilson. A Liam corner seen Wilson connect with a header which looked to be over the line, only to be scrambled away for another corner. From the resulting corner he again had his gaol bound header cleared off the line to be denied his first ever Jailhouse goal. The lad eventually hung on for a one nil victory.
Overall a win is a win and the 3 points are on the board. A 3rd consecutive clean sheet from star man Booth and congratulation to “The Bomb” for completing his first ever 90 minutes for the Jailhouse – all be it as a stand in, make shift, last resort ref. I guess it’s the only way he’ll do 90 minutes …….due to his injuries.

Bez and Smith were left and right wingers respectively and spear heading the attack was young gun Luke Devine.
From the off it was a very lively start with all out attacking football. Excellent play from the midfield duo of Gregs and Taylor made it hard very difficult for there midfield to produce any football, giving the Jailhouse the upper hand. On the odd occasion they did manage to attack it was soon defused by Gav Woolley sitting on front of the back four, with this impressive play the first goal was inevitable. The dead lock was broken when a Smithy shot was parried and Luke reacted before any of the defenders had even thought about reacting to knock home his 4th of the season. The second came with a neat one-two between Gregs and Smith resulting in Gregs slotting home (left footed) his first of the season. A goal he’s dedicated to John and Edward – X Factor 09! A very impressive defence performance was hindered when Yates scratched his head and had to be substituted for Paul Hart, We wish you a speedy recovery David. The third goal came after a great lay off from Luke for Bez to finally score his fiftieth goal for the Jailhouse, after 630 days, 12 hours and 17 minutes also revealing a very faded “50 Goal” t-shirt.
Half time and the Gaffa was more then happy with the lads performance and wanted more of the same, which is what he got. Again the defence were immense and Booth was almost asleep in goal. The fourth goal came from the penalty spot after our Polish International was allegedly tripped inside the box, he picked himself up and converted the spot kick. Later in the half the keeper came too far out his box for Gav Woolley to chip a shot only for it to hit the bar!
An excellent performance from all the team notably the defence and a star man performance from Gav Woolley in his new roll.

An abysmal start to the game seen the Jailhouse concede inside two minutes. Just after the restart midfield “maestro” Taylor was subbed for what can only be described as – still drunk! Ben Gregory fresh from his holiday slotted back into midfield. A further 4 goals were conceded before Luke coolly passed the ball into the net for a first half consolation goal and his 3rd goal this season.
Half time and a massive telling off from the gaffa was received by the naughty school children – word far too graphic to repeat in this report.
Time to go out and correct our wrongs ……however things got worse straight from the kick off a mix up between Wilson and Pabs let there striker in for a 6 goal! Not what the gaffa ordered. 6 one down and finally the Jailhouse lads switched on and started to play as they can. A customary Gregs to Smith ball opened up the scoring only to be pegged back by another Haunchwood goal. 7 – 2 and Smith netted a further two to grab a hat-trick and take the score line to a more respectable 7 – 4. Again the back line was broken and Haunchwood nicked an 8th goal. Lee Rud once again came off the bench and netted the Jailhouses 5th late consolation goal and his 4 of the season.
A below par performance from a hung over team. With an excellent performance from Nik Booth in goal who kept the score from being far greater.

Pabs was back in favour at right back and it was the first starts to the season for Gav in centre mid and Chef man at left back. However it was Attlebough Mills who opened the scoring after skipper Wilson committed a foul inside the box to concede a penalty. More chances came for the Jailers to go level but again we fell short at the end product. Finally the dead lock broke on the half hour mark with Ruddy powering home a left foot drive. Just before half time Adam Taylor hit a thunderous drive only for it to come back off the cross bar.
After a few wise words of wisdom from the Gaffa the lads headed back onto the fortress and got off to a flying start. Some excellent play down the left from Chef man and Bez produced a cross which Liam Hegarty converted to open up his Jailhouse account. The game now being controlled by the Jailhouse needed another goal to put the game out of reach of Attlebough Mills. A free kick outside the box presented the perfect opportunity – Taylor touched the ball to midfield partner Gav (Pole to Cypriote) who fired the ball home passed the routed keeper for a 3 – 1 lead. 10 minutes before time Smith added another to the score sheet to make the final score four one.
An all round great performance from the team and at times totally out classing the opposition. Some note worthy performance from Chef Man and Pabs in the left and right back positions.

Jailhouse FC 5 - 3 FordSports Res
The first league game of the season seen potential title rivals Ford Sports Reserve travel to Stanley Road, freshly cut……. but still long enough to make crop circles!
With confidence high among the squad the Gaffa fielded an unchanged team from the previous week However a changed was needed between the sticks due to a Devon bound Booth – Step up Andy Robinson.
The game started off in the normal Jailhouse style, fast and furious, closing down balls and creating chances, the strike force of Luke and Smith started where they left off the previous week with Smith netting a left foot shot for the opener. Five minutes later Smith added another to his tally after a delightful ball from Bond on the left side and a flick on from Gregs. Five minutes later Smith added another to his tally after a delightful ball from Bond on the left side and a flick on from Gregs. He then completed his hat-trick after a neatly played ball from Liam on the right. Ford Sports replied before half time with a thunderous strike from almost the half way line. The Jailhouse went in 3 – 1 to the good.
The second half started with an edgy Jailhouse conceding two goals for the visitor to level at 3 all! The lads needed to dig deep to pull back a goal and the Gaffa made some tactical substitutions bringing on Ruddy for Luke. Again after coming of the bench he made an impact forcing a foul from one of the Ford players to concede a penalty. The Polish International Adam Taylor stepped up to scuff the ball home and put the Jailhouse back in the lead. Ruddy again causing trouble up top scored the winning goal for a 5 – 3 win.
A good come back from the lads and a score line which flattened Ford Sports. Note worthy performance from Treadwell in the defence who was a man mountain.

The strike force consisted of another academy player Luke Devine and Talisman Smith.
It was a nervous start by both teams on an almost crop length pitch, however it was the Jailhouse who opened up the scoring after 20 minute with a neat ball from Gregs for Smith to slot home the opener. During the attack the Amberside keeper fell awkwardly damaging his ankle and the game was rightly delayed until the emergency service arrived. After the restart the Jailhouse doubled there lead with new boy Taylor finding Bez which he put away with his left foot. The third and 4th goals came from young gun Luke Divine again good work from Gregs in the midfield creating the chances and excellent finishing Four nil to the good and half time arrived with the new look back line not even breaking a sweat, such is the power of Jesus.
Second half started where we left off, with all out Jailhouse attack, some excellent wing play coming from both side sides with Pab and Bond starting most of the dangerous attacks. The introduction of striker Ruddy made an immediate impact after midfielders Gregs and Taylor combine for Ruddy to finish emphatically. Sealing a 5 nil home won.
An excellent start to the new campaign with a more then comfortable win and a clean sheet, slightly over shadowed by the ankle injury the to opposing teams keeper.
